The war between the states had just ended. The rumble of ox carts along the narrow streets of old San Antonio was a familiar sound when a little shop was opened on Commerce Street for the purpose of making stencils for wool and cotton shippers. This was the humble beginning of our company. Rubber stamps and Seals were later added to meet the growing demands of the businessmen of Texas for these essential products. In 1912, George T. Southwell purchased the company from one of the employees of the original founder.
